Off-Highway Vehicles

Off-highway vehicle (OHV) use is a common recreational activity in FMWB and great way to enjoy the outdoors! The RMWB maintains several OHV staging areas close to the city limits to facilitate and promote safe and legal OHV use by residents.

An OHV is any vehicle designed for cross-country travel on land, water, snow, ice, marsh, swampland or any other natural terrain. This includes motorcycles, minibikes, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.

Please note that OHV use is prohibited within the city limits of Fort McMurray.

Rules and regulations for OHV use are different in the rural communities of the region, so check out the RMWB’s OHV website for all of the information you need before you get out and explore all that the region has to offer.
