Snowmobiling

Welcome to a Snowmobiler's Paradise. With hundreds of kilometres of trails, cutlines, and waterways to explore, heart-pounding adventure is a way of life here.

From mid-December to April, take advantage of the extensive groomed and signed trail system around the region, developed and maintained by the McMurray Sno-Drifters Snowmobile Association. Close to town, you'll find staging areas on Tower Road in Timberlea, in Abasand, in Waterways and just north of Parsons Creek on Highway 63.

Before you go, remember to purchase a trail pass from the Sno-Drifters to support their trail maintenance efforts. Please note that snowmobile use is prohibited within the city limits of Fort McMurray.

For adventure and excitement on the trails, make sure you're prepared. Pack a first-aid kit, compact tool kit, trail map, tow strap and winch, extra fuel, food and water, and body protection including a helmet, goggles and gloves, and warm clothing.
