Local businesses ready to grow
B2C Business Connections Program completes another cohort
Getting exposure to new customers can be a challenge for many small businesses, and making the right pitch can be another hurdle as well. The B2C Business Connections Program through Startup YMM is designed to help new businesses to overcome these challenges – leveraging the strength of local tradeshows to get a business boost. Five local entrepreneurs are the latest cohort to take part in this innovative program.
Luc Bourget of BS Corkspray, Alisha Olinek of Tricky Treats, Jillanne Crandall of Laser Haus YMM, Neal Barry of The Hangingstone Climbing Co, and Koryn Krekoski of Wood Buffalo Outfitters worked with program consultant Diana Noble to prepare for the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce Fall Trade Show.
Three in-person training sessions anchored the program. Trade Show Fundamentals – The Power of Connection covered key points like trade show booth setup, customer service tips, making a strong first impression, and the importance of a follow-up strategy. Unique Marketing Tactics to Optimize Your Trade Show Experience provided innovative strategies to enhance a trade show booth’s visibility, capture leads, and boost ROI. Finally, Pitchcraft: Perfecting Your Trade Show Interactions helped participants to perfect their trade show pitches with expert guidance and real-time feedback. All three sessions were held at Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo’s business incubator, Startup YMM.
The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce Fall Trade Show is an ideal place to find local businesses with high-quality products and services. Visit our B2C Business Connections Program participants – and dozens more – from September 27 – 29.
